About the event

ABOUT THE EVENT

Come experience a unique showcase of incredible songs, storytelling, collaboration and community. This concert series brings you 4 talented songwriters curated by Aaron Nathans, Avi Wisnia, and Meghan Cary. Each month, a different line up of stand out artists share the stage, taking turns performing an eclectic variety of original songs, sharing the stories behind those songs, and speaking to the unique perspective that comes with having strong connections to the Philadelphia music scene.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Meghan Cary - “If you can get to a Meghan Cary show, run, don’t walk!” - Time Out Magazine

Meghan Cary creates a live music experience hailed as healing, inspiring and outrageously joyful. Cary earned Billboard Magazine’s esteemed Critic’s Choice Award when she first came on the scene, and her smoky voice, masterful storytelling, and award-winning songs continue to garner favorable comparisons to Melissa Etheridge, Brandi Carlile, and even Bruce Springsteen. A frequent performer at Philly Folk, Falcon Ridge, Black Bear Americana, and other venerable fests, Cary’s message of unity and the power of raising our voices together infuses every show. John Platt (WFUV) extols, “These times require songs of compassion and commitment. Meghan has several which inspire us to reach our higher selves, and sings them with such infectious joy you can’t resist joining in.”

Christine Havrilla - "Neofunkadelicfolkpoptwangrock"

Award-winning Philadelphia native Christine Havrilla brings her “well-built, catchy, smart tunes” (Upstage Magazine) to audiences everywhere, touring solo and also with the support of her band, Gypsy Fuzz. The start of 2024 finds the full band in the recording studio creating the next EP to be released in the Spring! WXPN’s The Key raves, “Rock and roll singer-songwriter Christine Havrilla has been a local favorite since the 90s, and her high-energy music is kindred is spirit with Sheryl Crow, Grace Potter, Brandi Carlile, and Lucinda Williams!” Christine utilizes the soft gritty texture of her vocals to express warmth and honesty listeners quickly embrace as well as her aggressive, raw, trash-style guitar playing and looping.

Michael London - "At turns, deeply peaceful and vibrantly energetic. What a gift!” - Edie Weinstein Moser LSW

Michael London is a unique musician due to his inspiring and moving voice, exceptional guitar skills, and his ability to interpret classic folk, jazz, and soul songs in his own exciting and expansive style. He is also a passionate interpreter of Rumi's poetry, a 13th-century Sufi poet, and offers a musical window into the ecstatic poems, revealing our connection with the self, humanity, nature, and beyond.

Julieann Ott - "Tuned to a natural E. Happy to be that way."

Philly-based singer-songwriter Julieann Ott writes rootsy pop “song-stories” that evoke introspective Americana superstars a la Patty Griffin. With vivid imagery and unexpected melodic turns, Ott hooks her listeners and takes them on an emotional ride. Trained as a graphic artist, she dreamt of a life writing and performing music, but there were kids to raise, grandkids to embrace, and fears to overcome. When desire overtook fear, Ott stepped into her destiny. That desire to empathize, share joy, make change for good, however small, and to continually ask “What’s it all about?” infuses her music to this day.
