Mums the Word

Mums The Word is a funky psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll band from South Jersey and Philadelphia. They released their second full-length album “Get it Wrong!” in 2022 and are in the studio currently recording their third album: “Mums the World.” Led by Brian Corry, the group and draws influence from:  The Grateful Dead, Parliament Funkadelic, and Frank Zappa combining elements of both the Philadelphia Mummers Parade with music festival culture.

Mums the Word always brings the party vibes while managing to deliver a meaningful psychedelic experience!  With a balance of simple dance/party tunes and more complex and experimental pieces a connection is formed between the band and the audience that creates long-lasting memories.

Preparing to leave on their Second National Tour, the band aspires to continue to blend Mummer and Festival cultures while spreading their music to a wide audience of funk loving fans!

DRINK: Our neighbors at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery have a bar set-up in the back of the venue and will be selling their delicious beer. BYO-Wine is allowed with a $5 corkage fee per person. No Hard Liquor or outside beer permitted.

FOOD: We sell small snacks at each event, but we are not a restaurant and do not have table service. We strongly recommend having dinner at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery beforehand and we do allow outside food in the venue if you wish to bring it in.

PARKING: Guests of The Royal are permitted to park in the parking lot of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Enter the lot on Mt. Carmel Avenue, on the other side of Easton Road. Parking is available at the Glenside Train Station, but at your own risk as we are not associated or contracted with SEPTA. Street parking is also available.
