ABOUT THE ARTIST

“Outlaw Mystic” is how one reviewer defined the music of Boris Garcia, “an intoxicating blend of Americana, Bluegrass, and Jam”. With strong songwriting fueled by fiery multi instrumentalists, Boris Garcia’s songs bend musical genres with whimsy, honesty, and emotion.

Boris Garcia isn’t a person but a band, it's an ensemble that starts with jamgrass (“We’re all folkies at heart,” remarked one band member) but also fuses a dozen strands of Americana into a rich, ever-evolving whole. Rock, Folk, Celtic, Soul, Psychedelic/Bluegrass – you can hear them all. They masterfully blend acoustic and electric instrumentation, with roots sensibility.

Their latest release, "It's Time For Tea"  (2023) includes Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull, George Harrison, XTC) on drums, Bill Patton (Josh Tillman AKA Father John Misty) on pedal steel and Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth) on fiddle.

DRINK: Our neighbors at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery have a bar set-up in the back of the venue and will be selling their delicious beer. BYO-Wine is allowed with a $5 corkage fee per person. No Hard Liquor or outside beer permitted.

FOOD: We sell small snacks at each event, but we are not a restaurant and do not have table service. We strongly recommend having dinner at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery beforehand and we do allow outside food in the venue if you wish to bring it in.

PARKING: Guests of The Royal are permitted to park in the parking lot of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Enter the lot on Mt. Carmel Avenue, on the other side of Easton Road. Parking is available at the Glenside Train Station, but at your own risk as we are not associated or contracted with SEPTA. Street parking is also available.
