ABOUT THE ARTIST

The Loren Gildar Band charges gleefully through wild marshes of swampy soul, over sweet grassy hills of groovy americana and right into the thicket of thorny alt rock anthems. With expressive and skillful musicianship, insightful lyrics sung in 3-part harmonies and a rock-solid rhythm section, this 5 piece joins the audience for a joyful ride through sonic regions of the heart, mind and body. The band is comprised of Loren Gildar, on guitar, keys and vocals; Yvonne Blackwell, lead and harmony vocals; Kara Drane, harmony vocals, guitar, keys, harmonica, melodica and auxiliary percussion; Mike Mahoney on drum set and Juan Bossio-Garcia on Bass Guitar. The band has gathered its members from across the world including Tampa, FL, New Orleans, Louisiana; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Philadelphia and Upstate New York and the flavors of their hometowns have joined the party. Garnering comparisons to Paul Simon, Wilco, Elivs Costello and Weezer, this gathering of musicians is a trip.

DRINK: Our neighbors at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery have a bar set-up in the back of the venue and will be selling their delicious beer. BYO-Wine is allowed with a $5 corkage fee per person. No Hard Liquor or outside beer permitted.

FOOD: We sell small snacks at each event, but we are not a restaurant and do not have table service. We strongly recommend having dinner at The Ways Restaurant and Brewery beforehand and we do allow outside food in the venue if you wish to bring it in.

PARKING: Guests of The Royal are permitted to park in the parking lot of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Enter the lot on Mt. Carmel Avenue, on the other side of Easton Road. Parking is available at the Glenside Train Station, but at your own risk as we are not associated or contracted with SEPTA. Street parking is also available.
